Based on the concept of “Providing Human Resources Division to all companies”, Minagine provides a cloud attendance management system (Asian Tech Fukuoka use the system) mainly for small and medium-sized companies. We interviewed Mr. Sai who is working in Asian Tech office in Da Nang (also known as a powerful engineer who can bench 100kg).

This time, we asked about the development rather than delicious food and reputable dishes in Da Nang. His blog is also interesting, so please check it out. (There is a link at the bottom)

  1. About Minagine
  2. Minagine’s mission
  3. The reason why Minagine have been working with Asian Tech now
  4. Future prospective

Nakakuki: Oh my god. This room is so hot. We should turn down the air conditioner, right?

Yes, I’ll do it(pip pip pip..)

About Minagine

Nakakuki: Thank you so much. So, could you tell me about Minagine’s service?

As a company, we have staffing service, payroll accounting outsourcing service, personnel evaluation consulting service, and social insurance consultant as well. Moreover my team is the department of cloud attendance management system and developing the system with Asian Tech.

Nakakuki: Can I ask you a little more about the cloud attendance management system?

Sure, there are various methods for attendance management. For example, you place the IC card over the sensor like “pip pip”, when you come to the office and  you go home, or the timing you turn on your PC is regarded as “start work” and the timing you turn off your PC is regarded as “finish work”, or you just click the “start”, “finish on the system. There are many ways to do it anyway. Our system help users to save attendance record, manage overtime, paid leave and payroll calculation easily. The purpose of this system is to reduce the workload of people in back-office, HR section related to payroll calculation.

Minagine’s mission

Nakakuki: Can you tell me what you are aiming for through this system?

There are many small-sized companies now, but back-office works are not managed properly and efficiently among most of them, Our mission is to provide proper back-office, HR functions to all companies regardless of the size of companies.

Nakakuki: Do you have any issue?

Well, there are many things to do.

There are various things like increasing sales, and operating that smoothly. In addition, shortage of engineers is also a big issue. So we are now developing the system with Asian Tech.

The reason why Minagine have been working with Asian Tech now

Nakakuki: Why did you choose Asian tech?

Originally we started the service in Japan, we were developing only in Japan with Japanese engineers.

But maybe from around 2011, in eastern Japan especially in Osaka, we couldn’t hire engineers when someone quits. Then we decided to start using offshore development to continue this project.

Even though we opted for Ho Chi Minh to start offshore development first as a base and we had been developing for 3 years there, there was the problem of high turnover rate that many engineers were going and coming. When we were suffering from that, we got some offer from Asian tech.

Asian tech said us “We can respond to the problem since we have a structure not to be dependent on a person to run a project. Then we started working with Asian tech. “standardized development system to cover engineers turnover” was a most important factor to determine working with Asian Tech.

Nakakuki: What should you be careful about when choosing a development company?

Well.. what should I care about..

I guess that the mobility of labour in engineers is high not only in Vietnam but in offshore development bases in any country. So, the development company’s great support for that part and the development system that can deal with that risk are supposed to be very important point.

Especially in the case of our product, the role of the development side is not completed as it is released. This project is the one to add new functions while repeating improvement through operation and maintenance. So, I think it is significant that how much the development company understands and cooperates around it.

Future prospective

Nakakuki: Do you have anything you want to do with Asian Tech in the near future?

Now we have been cooperating with Asian tech for development. But, since there is only a few engineer including me in our company, it is quite difficult for us to use outsourcing service. In future, we would like to advance not only the development but also the parts outside the development domain. For example, service planning or customer succession part.

We hope that we continuously keep moving forward together in future as direct employment of a large number of engineers is difficult and there are risks.

Nakakuki: This is the last question. Where is your favorite restaurant currently?

Too many...but there is a Chinese restaurant near Furama (luxury resort hotel on the beach area) and their dumpling is excellent.

Well..Nakakuki-san also went there before with me, right?

Nakakuki: Yes, that dumpling was awesome.I am from Yokohama and there is a famous chinese restaurant in China town. The taste of the dumpling is almost same as theirs and I was so impressed.  Mr. Sai knows much about Da Nang.. When you find a good restaurant, please share the information with me. Thank you so much today anyway!
